In July 15th Radio honors Noah guitars.
Born in 1993, NOAH the famous guitar brand which name stands for Noè Officine Aluminium Hardshells, represents excellence in the production of aluminum electric guitars entirely designed and hand finished in Italy.
NOAH instruments are not packaged in any company or shop. The headquarter is an old villa in north-east Milan, which resembles an exclusive underground club where musicians and fans can catch up with the three founders and handcrafters of Noah, Renato Ruatti, Giovanni Melis e Mauro Moia and discuss with them the customised development of their instrument.
Inspired by “National” – the famous American guitar from the 30’s – following the standard grooves of the classical “Telecaster” from Fender, NOAH guitars are considered real lute making jewelries.
Historical research and big attention to design has allowed Noah to create innovative instruments with respecting for their primary function; producing an excellent sound.
Noah instruments are constantly being played on stages worldwide by musicians such as Lou Reed, Muse, Ben Harper, Saturnino.

“On Any Sunday” 1971
An American Documentary, directed by Bruce Brown who describes the passion for motorcycling, especially the one of non-professional riders, those people who gather in the underground, dirty racetracks having fun and spending time with family or friends. This passion was in a certain way a cultural split in American society during those years.
“Longer” 2000
An in-depth look on surfing by Joel Tudor, a leading exponent of the international classic scene, one of the best and most respected longboard surfers ever.
Joel uses 10.0 feet long up to by 7.0 feet surboards, sneaking inside pipes or surfing soft waves.

Radio presents Immagini Spezzate, an exhibition across the middle east hot spots.
Beirut and Dubai, offer the perfect research ground for highlighting the extreme distance between tradition and modernity of the workforce within the urban and manufacturing development.
For the first episode of the RADIO project, the two travelers involved were entrusted the mission of exploring, in the above mentioned cities, the contemporary trend of recovering manufacture and handcraft.
Immagini Spezzate represents the fascination of the two travelers on the subject of Middle Eastern iconoclast, translated in visual documentation revised and redrawn in a provocative way in order to point out the cancellation of dialogue between production and purchasing.

June/September RADIO issue 1 – An inspired journey by handcrafted
The macro area of craftsmanship is the main inspiration of the first episode of RADIO (June / September 2010).
A survey on the current trend of recovery in manufacturing and crafts, rediscovering the value of craft as a tailored product, customized hand made.
Also a new kind of hand craft thanks to the contemporary cultural matrix in which the individual aims to being part of the creative and constructive process without being sanctioned within the big category of mass production.
The handcrafted seen as cultural awareness of human possibilities, as the sensorial capacities, as the romance of matter production.
Guest owner: Davide Caforio
Member of the first wave of Italian skaters, Davide is a scrupulous connoisseur of the cultural current that melts between surfing, skateboarding and punk rock in the U.S. since the ’70s. Today Davide designs and produces handmade furniture, and customizes racing bikes. He is the first guest owner of Radio: during the first term he will be the host in via Pestalozzi 4 showing his point of view on handcrafts.
