RADIO presents “LA RIVOLUZIONE SIAMO NOI”.
Sergio Messina, an artist and researcher based in Milan, presents an exhibition inspired by his decade-long study of pornography that includes a short film made for RADIO called Desktop Movie and a selection of images from his archives.
Messina’s research has brought him to put together a live performance called “Realcore” that has rerun many times in Milan, Amsterdam, Berlin, London and Los Angeles: a word and image based show that earned him a year-long teaching post in photography/pornography at the Art Institute of Chicago.
Messina’s work on pornography underlines the multifaceted and manifold expression of real sex, both as experienced and as exhibited, as opposed to mass market fictional porn and amounts to a socio-cultural and political vision condensed in a key phrase “ Porn is the new rock ‘n’ roll”.

RADIO welcomes the participation of the porn magazine New Gentlemen’s Club in the role of the organizer and promoter of the Swinging Party (from Midnight onwards).

A tribute to the happy and long lasting alliance between pornography and punk by celebrating one of the most interesting and least known contemporary punk scenes, with a photo exhibition: that of a succession of photographers and artists in their early twenties who live between Kiev and Yalta and who have taken photos, produced zines and personal shows all around the Ukraine.
They are friends.
Here in Italy for the first time, they will be presenting an account of their lives. In doing so they will be telling us what it is like to be adolescents – and punks – in the former Soviet bloc.

The wide context of pornography is the inspiration for RADIO’s second appointment (October/Novembe/December 2010).
Underground literature and uncompromising explicit and aesthetic media communication are only some of the topics related to fascination for pornography explored by RADIO’s guest owner and guest traveller. An outline of the complex reality of those who develop explicit, uncensored and bare content, disclosing the harsh essence of its nature and significance.
