RADIO & Essen Taste close the cycle of events dedicated to street-food by hosting CHINABRENNER’s video documentaries on Sichuan cuisine made ​​by Thomas and Jo Wrombel Zarth and a performance centered on Chinese street-food cooking by artist Natasha Fenoglio.

TourDeFork in collaboration with Essen Taste magazine continues to analyze and asses the modern interpretation of street food, by accumulating, categorizing and extrapolating individual food products from their original context, whilst trying to apply a set of rules from their Street Food Manifesto – in order to determine what may be classified as street food and what cannot, emphasizing the theory that street food it’s not what, where or with who you eat it, but how.

After having explored the contexts of craftmanship and pornography, Radio will continue to interact with the public using the same transversal approach as before, by dedicating a new appointment to street-food.

RADIO will set out to analyse and rework the tradition, the folklore and the contemporary nature of food eaten on the street with the support of cooks, photographers, musicians, designers and curators, chosen as ‘guest managers’ of the project. The central show-piece of RADIO’s project will be a public oven.

Just like the old-time public ovens common in the Mediterranean area acted as a place to meet to cook and eat food, so Radio will become a meeting place and a hangout for the public with exhibitions, events, secret diners, workshops and cooking sessions.

Parallel to this, a series of outdoor events will be organised by a second guest-owner, outside the Via Pestalozzi 4 premises.
